Actual
Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) per Project is a project management KPI that
shows the total amount of direct and indirect expenses to accomplish a portion
of work over some period of time. The
value of this KPI can be found by:
ACWP
= Direct Expenses + Indirect Expenses
Direct Expenses are costs that directly tied to the production of goods
or services.
Indirect Expenses include the following expenses: rent, utilities,
salaries of indirect labor, etc.
Sometimes
Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) can be the total amount of direct expenses
only.
You may need to
use Actual
Cost of Work Performed to
measure other KPIs such as Earned Value (EV) and Cost
Performance Index (CPI).
To calculate
Actual Cost of Work Performed please follow the steps
below:
- Create the
custom field "Direct Expenses" with Code "cf_direct_expenses"
- Create the
custom field "Indirect Expenses" with Code "cf_indirect_expenses"
- Create the
custom field "ACWP" with the formula:
$cf_direct_expenses + $cf_indirect_expenses
- On Task Tree select the task group for which you need to display Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) and select "Custom fields
options"
- Set the following custom fields settings for the following custom
fields: "Direct Expenses" and "Indirect Expenses"
- In "Settings for" select "This
task group"
- select "Enable"
- in "Aggregated (for task
group)" field select "Sum" from drop-down list and the corresponding custom
field name
- Select custom field "ACWP" set the following settings for these custom fields:
- In "Settings for" select "This task group"
- select "Enable"
- select "Calculated by custom field formula (for task group)"
