Average deviation of planned duration of projects is a key performance indicator that
shows average duration variance of projects in days expressed as the difference between
the planned duration and the baseline duration of projects.
Deviation
of planned duration (Duration Variance) can be calculated by the following
formula:
Deviation of Planned
Duration (Duration Variance) = Duration - Baseline Duration
Duration is the actual
scheduled time spent on projects.
Baseline Duration is
originally estimated time spent on projects.
This KPI
helps to compare the variation of time spent on projects over some time span.
