Number of planned hours per task is a key performance
indicator that shows the average time (baseline work) scheduled for each task
in a project. This KPI helps to check how successful your project planning is.
A task is usually viewed as the lowest level of the
work breakdown structure. If the average esteemed work to complete the task is 40-200 hours, your project plan can be considered
successful. Planned hours per task between 20-40 hours or between 200- 500
hours are considered average. Finally, if the project plan contains less than
20 hours or more than 500 hours of esteemed baseline work, it won’t bring
successful results.
If you need to count average planned hours per task or
average baseline work, you need to do the following:
- Create custom field "Baseline Work":

- If
you need to view the average planned work of tasks per particular project,
filter your to-do list by task group with project tasks.
- If
you need to estimate the average planned hours for tasks within some
period of time, set filter on Task List – Filters panel to display time
span
- Set footer to display the average planned hours of tasks for the given time span:
- right click under column "Baseline Work"
- select "Average"
