Total and Average Customer Order Promised Cycle Time of Products or Services Provided

Total and Average Customer Order Promised Cycle Time of Products or Services Provided is a manufacturing key performance indicator that measures the expected time from the date the order is placed by the customer and the date the product should be delivered to the customer.  Order Cycle Time is also referred as Order Lead Time.

Customer Order Promised Cycle Time can be calculated by the following formula:

Customer Order Promised Cycle Time = Expected Order Completion Date – Expected Ordering Date

Expected Ordering Date is the planned date when the customer is going to place the order.

Expected Order Completion Date is the date upon-agreed with the customer when the order should be completed and the product should be delivered to the customer.

Compared with Total and Average Lead Time of Products or Services Provided (that shows actual order cycle time), this KPI also reflects how successful the manufacturing processes are in the company. 

If you need to calculate total and average customer order promised cycle time of products or services provided, you need to do the following:

• Create custom field "Expected Ordering Date":
  • Go to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
  • In "Title" field enter "Expected Ordering Date"
  • In "Code" field enter "cf_ expected_ordering_date"
  • In "Type" field select "Date" and click "Ok" button



• Create custom field "Expected Order Completion Date":
  • Go to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
• In "Title" field enter "Expected Order Completion Date"
• In "Code" field enter "cf_expected_order_completion_date"
• In "Type" field select "Date" and click "Ok" button



• Create custom field "Customer Order Promised Cycle Time":
  • Go to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
• In "Title" field enter "Customer Order Promised Cycle Time"
• In "Code" field enter "cf_customer_order_promised_time"
• In "Type" field select "Duration"
• In "Formula" field enter the following formula and click "Ok" button:

$cf_expected_order_completion_date - $cf_expected_ordering_date



• If you need to view the total and average customer order promised cycle time of products or services provided per particular project, filter your to-do list by task group with project tasks.



• To display lead time for orders within particular time span set filter on Task List – Filters panel



• Set footer to display the total or average customer order promised cycle time:
  • right click under column "Customer Order Promised Cycle Time"
  • to see total Customer Order Promised Cycle Time select "Sum"



• to see average Customer Order Promised Cycle Time select "Average"



If you need to view the total or average customer order promised cycle time on Task Tree, please follow the steps below:

• On Task Tree select root task group and select "Custom fields options"



• To enable the displaying of the total or average customer order promised cycle time of products or services provided of products or services provided select custom field "Customer Order Promised Cycle Time",  do the following:
  • select Enable
  • check "Aggregated" (for task group)
  • to display the total customer order promised cycle time select "Sum" and the custom field name "Customer Order Promised Cycle Time"



• to display average customer order promised cycle time Lead Time select "Average"



• Select task group for which you need to view the total or average customer order promised cycle time, right click and select "Custom fields options"



• Select custom field "Customer Order Promised Cycle Time" and select the option "Enable by parent".
