Total and Average Lead Time of Products or Services Provided

This KPI shows the duration from the date the customer orders the product or service to the date the product or service is delivered or provided (or to the completion date of the order). This KPI can be measured in minutes, hours and days. The Lead Time can be calculated by the following formula:

Lead Time = Order Completion Date – Ordering Date

Ordering Date is the date of placing the order by the customer.

Order Completion Date is the date when the order is completed.

Time Lead KPI is used to estimate or compare how much time is needed to deliver the product or provide the service to the customer within certain period of time. The optimization of this process improves company profitability.

If you need to calculate total and average lead time of products or services, you need to do the following:

• Create custom field "Ordering Date":
• Go to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
• In "Title" field enter "Ordering Date"
• In "Code" field enter "cf_ ordering_date"
• In "Type" field select "Date" and click "Ok" button



• Create custom field "Order Completion Date":
  • Go to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
  • In "Title" field enter "Order Completion Date"
  • In "Code" field enter "cf_ order_completion_date"
  • In "Type" field select "Date" and click "Ok" button



• Create custom field "Lead Time":
  • Go to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
  • In "Title" field enter "Lead Time"
  • In "Code" field enter "cf_ lead_time"
  • In "Type" field select "Duration"
  • In "Formula" field enter the following formula and click "Ok" button:

$cf_order_completion_date $cf_ordering_date



• If you need to view the total and average lead time per particular project, filter your to-do list by task group with project tasks.



• To display lead time for orders within particular time span set filter on Task List – Filters panel



• Set footer to display the total or average lead time of products or services:
  • right click under column "Lead Time"
  • to see total Lead Time select "Sum"



• to see average Lead Time select "Average"



If you need to view the total or average lead time of products or services provided on Task Tree, please follow the steps below:

• On Task Tree select root task group and select "Custom fields options"



• To enable the displaying of the total or average lead time of products or services provided select custom field "Lead Time",  do the following:
  •  select Enable
  • check "Aggregated" (for task group)
  • to display the total Lead Time select "Sum" and the custom field name "Lead Time"



• to display average Lead Time select "Average"



• Select task group for which you need to view the total or average Lead Time, right click and select "Custom fields options"



• Select custom field "Lead Time" and select the option "Enable by parent".
