Total and Average Number of Defects Found Over Period of Time
This key performance indicator shows the total and
the average number of defects, bugs in the product. It can be used by software
quality assurance department to estimate how product quality was changing over
some period of time, for example, during the testing period and during post
release period.
If you need
to calculate the total or average number of defects found over period of time,
please do the following:
- Create
the custom field "Defects Number" to track how many defects each task/issue
report contains:
- Go
to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
- In
"Title" field enter "Defects Number"
- In
"Code" field enter "cf_defects_number"
- In
"Type" field select "Integer" and click "Ok" button
- If
you need to view the total or average number of defects per particular project
on Task List, filter your to-do list by task group with project tasks.
- Set
footer:
- right
click under column "Defects Number"
- to see the total number of defects select "Sum"
- to see the average number of defects select "Average"
If you need
to view the total or average number of
defects on Task Tree,
please follow the steps below:
- On
Task Tree select root task group and select "Custom fields options"
- To
enable the displaying of the total or
average number of defects select custom field "Defects Number",
do the following:
- select Enable
- check
"Aggregated" (for task group)
- to display the total amount of defects select "Sum" and the
custom field name "Defects Number"
- to display the average number of defects select "Average"
and the custom field name "Defects Number"
- Select
task group for which you need to view the total or average number of defects, right click and select "Custom fields
options"
- Select
custom field "Defects Number" and select the option "Enable by parent".
